Choi Nok (崔 綠) known by her stage name Choi Sam was born in 1991 on March 19th in Daegu, South Korea.
Sam and her older sister live together with her dog Beige who was previously her fathers dog, but due to him falling ill Sam and her older sister started taking care of Beige. Sadly later around 2022 Sam's father passed away, and her apartment burnt down. A news site reported on the happening without Sam's consent, to which she showed disappointment on twitter but told her fans that she would be alright, she said that she recovered some records from the wreckage and that life goes on. Beige often hangs out with a fellow dog friend named Poppy/빠삐.
Even though she has many pictures of flowers on her Instagram and Twitter, she is in fact allergic to pollen, and even has a song named 꽃가루(Pollen).
She's been rapping for more than 10 years, and doing hip-hop for 6.
She is a strong believer in equal rights for women and LGBTQ+ people.
She has held a joint performances with musical artist such as SLEEQ, Jieun Oh, A-Fuzz and has even been the guest act for MADDYXP's solo concert during her album release.
Throughout her life she's faced many hardships, from school violence by teachers to getting fired from a job she was underpaid at, and misogynists who hate her for being a feminist.
When she was young her mother sadly passed away so she doesn't know much about herself.
She raps about her struggles in her song 'Witch' and has a 'Draw my life' on the Natural Villa youtube channel
How did choi sam start rapping?
''As a child, I didn’t know how to cry audibly but there was a lot for me to cry about, my throat always hurt and I had very bad headaches. So I looked for another way [to let it out] and started rap. I started hiphop some time after that when I was trying to find out more about the rap I was doing. What I found was so fascinating that I got drawn to it. As I continued it [hiphop], there came the first time that I wanted to do something and enjoyed something. So I started doing it [hiphop/rap] properly.''
